From its opening moments, The Sheep Detectives immediately leans into something adorable, sweet, and emotionally disarming. It’s the kind of trailer that knows exactly how to hook you with warmth, and for me, it instantly brought back memories of the 1995 classic Babe.
What really caught me off guard is that underneath all of that charm, this feels like a genuine murder mystery built for younger audiences. The easiest comparison that came to mind was Knives Out for kids, and honestly, growing up, the closest thing I had to something like that was the 1985 classic Clue.
There’s no question this looks like the kind of film families are going to connect with, yet here I am heading to the theater by myself, and I’m completely okay with that. Because if this trailer is any indication, The Sheep Detectives may have a lot more on its mind than simply being cute.
Awards player or simply a beautifully cut piece of marketing, one thing is clear. This trailer knew exactly what it wanted me to feel.

Awards Outlook:
The Sheep Detectives lands in one early awards lane for me: Adapted Screenplay.
Whether you grew up on Clue, fell in love with Babe, or you’re simply looking for a mystery that feels a little different, The Sheep Detectives definitely has my attention. Now it’s time to see if the full film delivers on everything this trailer is promising.
